DERAILED ENGINE
PASSENGERS DELAYED
The engine of the 5.22 p.m. Welling-ton-Paekakariki train was derailed on the up line near Pukerua Bay shortly after 6 p.m. yesterday, The cause of the derailment has not yet been ascertained Passengers were transferred to the Wellington-Palmerston North train which left Wellington at 5.47 p.m. This train was held up for about half an hour owing to the derailment. The derailed engine was not severely damaged. The line was cleared and traffic was normal by 11 p.m.
