The light-harness season will be advanced a further stage when the Wellington Trotting Club's November Meeting is staged at Hutt Park tomorrow. The meeting will mark the completion of four. days' racing and trotting in Wellington. Good fields are listed for all events, and the form is likely to prove a valuable guide towards the solving of near-at-hand issues. • Excellent racing is promised throughout the day, with the clashes between the best of the North and South Island contingents providing interesting tussles.

Few phases of the Turf have made such convincing strides in popularity as the light-harness sport in Wellington, and present indications, are that it will continue to maintain its metropolitan status.. The stakes offered by the club are now among the best in the Dominion, and the class competing at the Park is the highest it is possible to secure from the intermediate ranks. An added stimulus to patronage from owners and trainers was the fact that at the opening of the season the club decided to present trophies offered by individual members to the most successful trainer and driver. Up to the present only one meeting has been held, and on the trainers' list B. Grice and, M,., Holmes lead-.with. ...two successes each,-"-while- -in? the -\ drivers'^ • list M. Holmes and O. E.. Hooper., are level with two each. . : The usual road and rail facilities will be available to the Park. Special trains to the course leave Wellington at 10.25 a.m. and 10.45 a.m., also ordinary trains (change at Woburn) at 11.48 a.m.. 12.9 p.m., 12.22 p.m., and 12.41 p.m. The following is a review of the form:— THE CHIEF EVENT. The principal event Is the Royal Handicap, and the inclusion of the New Zealand Trotting Cup candidate Gold Bar in- the field will add - interest to" the-" contest.l/G'dld!:Barjis probably one of *:the':fastes:t pacers uin.. training, but even though.he has'Ctfvered a milt* and a half in Smin 14 2-ssec he has the task in front of him of conceding starts ranging up to 60yds. On the front are speedy sorts in Te Roto and Lady Carol, and'of the pair the former makes the more appeal. He has won at his last four outings, and looks certain to play a prominent part. Acuity and Bing Crosby form a strong bracket, and both have recent form to commend them. Further down there is Ronald Logan, who has gone 3min 16 sec, Happy Locanda, and Haughty, all of whom have the credentials towards success. Toceetie would require to improve on- recent showings, and the same applies to the coupled Clockwork arid Superior Rank. The second "leg" is the Electric Handicap, and- here again backers are likely to rely upon the form' revealed in the Royal Handicap, this line having previously proved a reliable guide <*t Hutt Park. Of the newcomers Walter Moore is likely to be one of the favourites. He was a brilliant threeand four-year-old, and according to reports has been training on well recently. Others likely to run a merry mile and a quarter are Happy Locanda, Haughty, Ronald Logan, Acuity, and Bing Crosby, all of whom have faster records than their present handicaps at the distance. The opening event is the Petone Handicap, 'and there is no denying that on paper Lady Scott looks like having a second-to-none chance of success. She has taken a record at the distance of 3p->in 26sec, and in her only two outings /iis term has secured a first and a second. Mac's Jimmy was responsible for an encouraging performance at Auckland last Saturday, and is an improver, while Vera Worthy and Helen Scott have recent placings to their credit. Of the others the best prospects may be held by Lee Berry and Suspense. There is not a great deal of disclosed form in the Short Handicap, and there is naturally plenty of room for a surprise. Free Bond, Lady Rescue, Rollicking R-?y, and Safari have been in the money this season, and they are susceptible to improvement, and it is possible that the winner will come from this lot. The slow-class two-mile event, the Borough Handicap;, includes several improving pacers, and betting is likely to take a wide range. Clonard was a winner at his last start, and Derby Lv was in the' minor money at Auckland last weekend. Manawai and Oxford King have displayed sufficient stamina in their outings to date to suggest that they can compass two miles successfully, while further back in the handicap are smart pacers in Yon Van, Blaydon, and Gold Flight. The last-named is a real good sort, and has won four races on the track; he should' be prominent throughout. A second opportunity for the unhoppled performers is afforded with the President's Handicap, but on this occasion the distance is half a mile
