VISIT TO ROTORUA

ROTORUA, October 10,
The Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, and Lady Newall arrived at Rotorua by car this morning from Frankton on their first official visit.
On arrival they inspected the children Of Rotorua schools and they were tendered a civic and traditional Maori Welcome in the afternoon.
During three days in the district they will visit the scenic and thermal area and inspect parades of the Home. Guard and returned soldiers. They are attended by Wing Commander H. C. Bevan, military secretary, and Captain C. J. HollandrMartin, aide-de-camp, and will return to Government House, Wellington, by train from Frankton on Sunday. After the welcome by local body representatives this afternoon they visited the public hospital. They were entertained at a Maori concert in the evening.
