WELLINGTON SEATS
COMMUNIST CANDIDATES
) The Communist Party has announced its intention to contest the three seats in the Wellington urban area which are held by Cabinet Ministers. Candidates have already been selected for Wellington Central (at present represented by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser) and Wellington East (represented by the Minister of National Service, Mr. Semple). The two candidates are Mr. Alexander Galbraith, who wJll contest Wellington Central, and Mr. Albert James Birchfield, who will stand for Wellington East. T^e third seat to be contested is the Hutt, at present held by the Minister of Finance (Mr. Nash). An announcement as to the candidate for this electorate will be made shortly. In addition, the Palmerston North seat will be contested by Mr. F. Manning.
