New hospitals had sprung! up in many places outside the danger! zone, the change-over of a building! from a private home into a hospital; being quickly effected. Many retired doctors and nurses had offered their services and were doing fine work at first-aid posts in London. She had met many nurses when visiting war hospitals in Britain, said her Excellency, and wherever she and Sir Cyril went in New Zealand they endeavoured to visit the hospitals and I were interested in meeting the nurses as well as the patients.
