MEN'S SUITS
ECONOMY DESIGN
(Rec. 2.10) LONDON, August 15. Before long men wearing civilian clothes may resemble figures from i ancient family albums, says the "Daily .Mail." A design for a standard cloth- ! saving suit has been issued in the tailoring trade, and if the trade approves the Government will be asked to foster the design. The suit is designed to reduce linings, buttons, and material to a minimum, and to reduce labour by 10 per cent. There is no waistcoat, and the trousers are cuffless and selfsupporting, are narrower at the cuffs, land have less room at the knee. The coat is single-breasted, with four butjtons, and does up high to the neck, ithus giving more warmth and concealline the absence of the waistcoat.
