ATHLETIC AND PIRATES
Avith their forwards giving enterprising'backs plenty of the ball, Athletic were able to call the tune in their match with Pirates at Wakefield Park. Many of their movements were pretty to watch, although some were spoilt by Individuals trying to go too far. Athletics points were from two tries by Mathews and one by Guise, with two conversions and 1;wo penalty goals by Jones, and a penalty goal by Pelham. Hardle kicked two penalties and Thor-burn-scored a try for Pirates. Result: Athletic 22, Pirates y. The referee:was Mr,, A. Fong.
