OIL FOR BESSARABIA
SUPPLIES FROM RUMANIA
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, November 25,
Interest has been aroused in circles concerned with the economic side of the war by reports that Rumania is to supply oil to Bessarabia, the former Rumanian province recently taken over by Russia. The explanation given is that it is difficult for Russia to supply Bessarabia with oil.
If this is so, Germany's chances of getting any important amount of oil from Russia are slight. Moreover, if the Germans are letting Rumania send oil into Bessarabia, this means that the Germans cannot, for transport reasons, take all Rumanian oil to the Reich, where it is very much needed.
