SHIPPING LOSSES

LONDON, July 30
The Admiralty reports that the mercantile losses by enemy action during the week ended July 21 were eleven British ships totalling 37,577 tons, one Allied totalling 2088 tons, and six neutral totalling 10,192 tons.
The total loss was slightly below the weekly average since the outbreak of the war, and rather less than onefourth of the highest weekly total. The total German fosses to July 28 were approximately 908,000 tons and the Italian 254,000 tons. About 20,000 tons of former neutral but now enemycontrolled shipping was also sunk.
