LAID BY GERMAN PLANE

LONDON, July 3,
The German radio, quoting the owners, announces the loss of the French passenger liner Champlain (28,124 tons.)
The Champlain struck a mine a few days ago off La Pallice, The mines were laid by German planes on the previous night. Nearly all the passengers were saved. Several of the crew were killed.
