PRESS OPINION
WATCH BY GOVERNMENT IN
BRITAIN

LONDON, July 3
The Lord Privy Seal, Mr. Attlee, said in the House of Commons that the Government was not prepared to guarantee non-interference with the publication by the Press of certain expressions of opinion. It must be recognised that statements could be published in the guise of opinion which would disclose information to the enemy or impede the war effort by weakening public resolution.
