BUCHAREST RADIO SILENT
(Received July 4, 2.40 p.m.)
LONDON, July 4
The Bucharest radio is silent tonight. It went off the air, and listeners in London reported a short time ago that there was nothing to be heard from any of the stations and that no carrier, wave could be picked up. The first transmitter closed down about four hours ago while the news bulletin in Rumanian for Rumanians was being read. About an hour later all three transmitters were silent, and neither the French, German, English, or Italian bulletins could be heard. About an hour and a half ago all transmitters were reported to be completely silent.
