FAREWELL AT MARTON

There was a big crowd at. Marton at the farewell dance given in , the Druids 1 Hall to the men -of. the Second Echelon shortly entraining, for service overseas. Special items between dances were given by Misses McAsey and Taafe and Mr. John Wales. After supper the Mayor, Mr. P Purnell, briefly addressed the audience, and presented each man with a gift from the town. , Air Force Wedding. Blue and pink hydrangeas decorated St. Margaret's Church, Taihape, when Margaret, daughter of Mr. . McLean and'the late Mr. W. H. McLean, was married-to Flying-Officer F. R. Andrews,: son of.; Mr. and Mrs.' F. H. Andrews, Christchurch. The bride, who was escorted by her uncley Mr. Gordon Mcßeth, of Wanganui, wore a trained frock of French marquisette embroidered in gold and a tulle veil held by gardenias. Misses Lois Andrews, of Christchurch, and Margaret Watt, of Taihape,. wore picture frocks of white hailstorm muslin, and widebrimmed hats. Aircraftman A. H. McLean and Sergeant B. Seccombe attended the bridegroom.- A reception was held afterwards at Mrs. McLean's home. Party at the Beach. • . The hall at Waverley Beach was a gay place recently when the women campers combined to give a farewell party in honour of Mrs. McMurray, who is leaving Waverley to make a home in Inglewood.
