ST. STELLA'S W.V.S.
The Dowager Lady Reading,/chairwoman 'of the , Women's Voluntary Services * for Civil Defence in Great Britain, is "Stella" to her friends. The staff at her headquarters; in Tothill Street, London, now: call-themselves "the girls at St. Stella's." The W.V.S. uniform has an academic and indeed youthful air. It consists of a - green hat with W.V.S. on the ribbon, and a grey dress. A green overall with the badge is also worn in office hours. As the new name of the W.V.S. organisation is likely to spread throughout the country, the London headquarters staff has already taken for itself the designation of "the Fifth Form at k>t. Stella's;"
