LATE MR. J. W. ABBOTT
MEMORIAL SERVICE
The esteem in which the late Mr. John W. Abbott, .of Abbott Oram and Co., Wellington, was held was evidenced by the large attendance at a memorial service held in the Cathedral Church of St. Paul yesterday afternoon.
The majority of the leading business houses and banks were represented among the many mourners. Messrs. E. H. Rawson and Kenneth Duncan, brothers-in-law, were the chief mourners. Those who acted as pallbearers were Messrs. F. Abbott (nephcAv, of Auckland), H. P. F. Blundell, James Crawford, Gordon Harcourt, G. Lusty, and Dr. Stout. The service was conducted by the Rev. Collard Scrubey.

J. S. Harcourt, ,C. Richardson, A. L. Hempton, J. C. Peacock, D. Guiney, Alec. Smith (of James Smith and Co., Ltd.), G. W. yon Zedlitz, M. F. Luckie, S. Wheeler, C. Leary, K. Hunt, H. S. Malcolm, J. Haley, Harry Atkinson (Commissioner of Patents), and Dr. C. J. Reakes. There were numerous floral tributes from all parts of New Zealand. . ,
