A NEW CARNATION
Occupying only a 10-rod allotment and a small, home-made greenhouse, Mr. E. Baldry, a gas service layer, of Croppath Road, Essex, holds the secret of a new purplish border carnation. Lady Milne-Watson. Mr. Baldry said: "When it is in commerce this new variety will be doubly welcomed by carnation lovers because not only is its colouring unique—bright to rosy purple on a white ground—but it is heavily clove scented, a characteristic which is entirely lacking in many other varieties."
