CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY
WATERSIDE DEFEATED
In the first really disappointng game on the Basin Reserve this season, AVaterslde, until recently the championship leaders, went down to Hospital by 2 goals to 0 in their meeting on Saturday. Innumerable chances thrown away marked the game as "unusually poor for senior standard. Neither side was in its true form and tho exhibition was not edifying.
Play was fairly evenly divided throughout the ninety minutes, both sides showing occasional bursts of improved play without being able to maintain it. After a scoreless first half Jeromson netted Hospital's first goal early in the second spell, and tlie result was in doubt until a few minutes before the end when Lawler capped a Hospital sortie with the second goal. Faults shared equally by both sides were weak and inaccurate shooting, aimless passing, and failure to connect with the mlnorlty of passes that were well directed.
Both teams have done and can do very much better.
