PRICES OF WOOL
STABILISATION NEEDED
A motion urging the Dominion executive to press for a scheme covering the sale of wool, such scheme to give a measure of security against price fluctuations, without the loss of producer control, was carried by the annual conference of the New Zealand Farmers' Union today. The matter was referred to the Wool Publicity Committee. J .'.'■■
Mr. A. J. Davey (South Canterbury)! said there had been great fluctuations in the price of wool. Whatever might be said about the guaranteed price, it had certainly had the effect of bringing a certain amount of stability to dairymen. Whatever was done in the case of the sheep, farmers, it was essential that the producers should control the scheme themselves. •
Mr. G. C. Werren (Darfield) said a scheme to stabilise wool was essential.
