PRISON FOR TRUCK DRIVER

AUCKLAND, This Day.
Arrested by a traffic inspector at * city intersection yesterday afternoon, Sydney Herbert Boatman,' aged 44, pleaded; guilty at. the Police Court; today to being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-truck. The police said that the truck tools a wide sweep when turning, and collided with another vehicle in the line of traffic. A doctor certified that the accused was intoxicated. He had no licence to drive. Boatman was sentenced to 14 days* imprisonment, and was prohibited from. driving for three years. For driving without a licence he was convicted and» discharged.
