PEACE-LOVERS' UNION
IMPORTANCE STRESSED
TRADE UNION CONGRESS
(Received July 6, 9.45 a.m.)
ZURICH, July 5,
Sir Walter Citrine, in his presidential address at the International Trade Union Congress, emphasised the importance of building up a union of peace lovers which would not be an encirclement move but a shield for democracy and for freedom against the avowed inveterate enemies of both. It would be a bulwark against the Nazi and Fascist philosophy of violence and power politics. The congress pledged its support, to resistance to. invasion and conquest in order to prove that Germany's encirclement propaganda is a gross travesty oi the truth.
