CANINE NURSES
Referring to comments on the scarcity of veterinarians, Mrs. Mabel Christmas Harvey suggests that, it the women of New Zealand would train as canine nurses they could do wonderful work all over the country. Hundreds of sheep dogs die yearly for want of skilled nursing. It takes a long time to train and replace valuable dogs. Girls and women properly trained are sent out to nurse all kinds of cases from the C.N.I, all over England. The same could be done here if only the women would take it up. "At Home it is the women of the well educated class who do this work. I know one in London who has a distemper hospital with little wards all fitted up and a staff of trained nurses in attendance night and day."
