HEAVY SNOWFALL
TRAFFIC HELD UP
RIVERS RUNNING HIGH

DUNEDIN, This Day.
The first blizzard of winter struck Dunedin last night, a piercing westerly v/ini bringing snow, which piled up on the hills to some depth. The main north road over Mount Cargill was impassable till noon today, when a grader had cleared a one-way track. Three i-ailway buses and many cars were held up on the Mountain Road. The Waitati Stream overflowed intp Chinese gardens, and at noon, with rain continuing, there were indications of serious flooding in South and Central Otago. The roads are clear, but the Molyneux River at Balclutha is running high. ,
