UNFINISHED HOUSES

Sir, —There is an aspect of the Government housing policy on which I would like information, which I am sure would also be appreciated by many other house-hunters: how long does it take on the average to build, say, a four-roomed house? I ask this because I notice that at Strathmore, Ngaio, and Khandallah the practice seems to be to almost, but not quite, complete a house, and leave it in that state indefinitely. Some of them, practically built, remain in that condition for weeks, probably months. What is the reason? Seeing that private builders So not appear to have any difficulty in finishing their houses, why is it that the Government ones take so long?— I am, etc.,
