EASTER BOWLING

CENTRE TOURNEY

Good progress in ideal weather was made on Saturday in the Wellington Bowling Centre's Easter fours tourney.

la the fifth round (section B), at the Victoria green, H. Dickson (Thorndon), in his game against D. Hunter (Petone), pulled the match out of the fire at the last minute with a sensational 5, and won by 17-15. Hunter, who had J. Lowry as his No. 3, opened his account with a 5 and kept ahead up to the last end. He was 10-2, 10-4, and 14-7 on the fourteenth end. Dickson then began to score freely, getting 10 in three ends.^whilst Hunter added one only. Dickson in the last end, when lying the shot, beautifully trailed for 4 and then added a fifth shot with his second bowl.

The fifth-round game between C. A. Ren die (Upper Hutt), last year's winner, and W. F. Hadwin (Lower Hutt) was -a spectacular one, there being no fewer than ten dead heads, Hadwin being responsible for eight of these.
