LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION
Mrs. J. Henderson was the hostess and the Rev. Gordon McKenzie the chairman at the meeting of the Wellington branch of the League of Nations Union which took place at the Lyceum Club yesterday. Professor L. M. Lipson was the guest speaker, and Mrs. Henderson presented his wife with a floral shoulder spray.
The professor's address was entitled "An Englishman Looks at America," and a short talk on the work of x the International Labour Office at Geneva was given by Mr. Riches, of the Geneva Secretariat. Tea was served and songs were sung by Mrs. H. W. Eggers* Miss Willis, and Mr. Arthur Ashley-Jones, Mrs. W. R. Wilson being the, accompanist. Among others present were Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Matheson, the Rev. F. J. Usher, Mr. R. A. Stewart, Miss M. E. P. Ahem (secretary), Mesdames J. C. Andersen, Israel, Lundius, G. O. Sutton, H. B. Mason, Middleton, J. D. Gray, Maunder, Gillingham, Henry. Bringans, Clark, Lowe, P. J. Smith, W. G. Crawford, Street, Mpwlem, Coleridge, Tomkies, Downey, Bogren, Morgan, Barn•ard, Denton t Longmore, A. Robertson, Castle, Strong, W. Richards, Sticht, Goldsmith, Aston, Grant, Berryman; Misses Greig, Raulston (2), Sandall, E. Williams, R. Old, M. Brown, Finhey; Dr. J. H. Beaumont, and the .Rev. J, Beilby.
