Miss Sheelagh Fitzgerald, whose marriage to Mr. Athol Reid, late of Blenheim, will take place early in the New Year, was the guest of honour at a formal gift evening, given by the Misses Kathleen and Jean Cameron at their home, Park Street, on Saturday evening. The hostesses received their guests, Miss Kathleen Cameron wearing a pale blue Grecian frock of satin, which, was caught at the ruched bodice with a spray of deep blue delphiniums, while Jean was fawned in a deep pansycoloured chiffon frock.

The reception rooms were beautifully arranged by an artist friend of the hostesses, with hydrangeas -and Christmas lilies, and a festive atmosphere pervaded accentuated by the truly Christmas decorations of lighted candles, holly, mistletoe, silver bells, a scintillating Christmas tree, and a figure of Father Christmas, which was greatly admired by all. The dancing room was delightfully arranged with red and white streamers caught with gay little red bells and sprigs of mistletoe. The supper table was tastefully arranged with many unusual savouries, the recipes of which the Misses Cameron collected during their visit abroad in the earlier part of the year.
