OBSTACLE TO PACT REMOVED
LONDON, September 29. ilt is reported from Some that Count Ciano is believed to have in-, formed the British Ambassador, Lord Perth, of the decision to withdraw Italian volunteers from Spain, intimating that the last obstacle to the application of the Anglo-Italian Pact is thereby remoyed. , It is stated that Signor Mussolini decided on the withdrawal after General Franco's announcement that he would be neutral in any European war, and also in view of Signor Negrin's decision to evacuate foreigners. It is understood that the evacuation of Italians has already begun. It is reported from St. Jean-de-Luz that 500 Italian airmen were withdrawn abruptly from the Spanish war. Most of them w.ere stationed in Majorca and Saragossa.
