AUCKLAND WEST SEAT
NATIONAL CANDIDATE

AUCKLAND, September 28,
The candidature of Mr; J. W. Kealy, jun., to represent the National. Party in the Auckland West electorate for the General Election was decided upon by financial members of the party in the electorate tonight. Mr. Kealy takes the place of Mr. H. M. Bagnall, who was previously- chosen but recently decided that hel 'would not be able to undertake the campaign- „-■■ - - j Mr. Kealy is aged 36. He received hi searly education at the Auckland Grammar School and Auckland University College, where he qualified as a barrister and solicitor. He is a past member of the Avondale Borough Council, and in 1927, at the age of 25, he was elected to the Auckland City Council, being the youngest member who has held a seat on that body. He was later defeated but re-entered the
council again this year. ' Mr Kealy's opponent is the Prime Minister, the kt Hon. M. J. Savage.
