THE RACING CALENDAR
During the year the executive committee of the Racing Conference had very carefuJy examined the question of the publication of the Official Rac- "?§ Calendar and. the New Zealand k? J&&&F* with the result that it had decided to call for tenders for printing these two publications, stated address to delegates this morning. Satisfactory arrangements have now been made to publish a weekly Ofßciai Ra<tJ n S Calendar and also the New Zealand Turf Register. The Official Calendar is being sent free to every owner who has an interief*-*? a horse m training, as well as to aH lieeiKed trainers and the secretaries of racing clubs. It is in the clubs' own interests to take advantage of this coverage of their clients by generously supporting the Official Calendar. These two publications are now under the direct editorial control of the Confer- ! ence and the contents are copyright. In order to correct any misapprehension that may exist in regard to the action taken by the executive committee sin connection witli these nublicatoons. Mr. McLeod mentioned* that the Conference had for many years had the Official Calendar Cand the Ttof Register) published under various arrangements of weekly, fawxnliily, and quarterly publications, aaad in the case of .the Turf Register* annually. Tfee "New Zealand Referee1" \?as for many years the organ used by' tfee conference to grtiblish weekly official racing notifications, which were subsequently published in the monthly Official Calendar. The Conference had now decided to publish the Calendar weekly, instead of moatfely and quarterly.
