A DELIGHTFUL PARTY
A very pleasant time was spent yes-1 terday afternoon at "Mr. Speaker's" rooms at the Parliamentary Buildings,' Legislative section, when Lady Carn-' cross entertained the wives of Legislative Councillors. The artistic draw-ing-room, which has lately been enriched with beautiful old gold curtains in the long windows, and pretty jiew chair covers, was/arranged with conservatory plants, the varieties of coleus plants being particularly admired. With a warm and blazing fire and excellent tea, the party was a most pleasant one to be at, and the guests thanked their hostess very cordially for her thought in giving, them an opportunity of meeting each other. With many interests in common there was no lack of conversation, and later Sir Walter Carncross was able to join the party and meet the ladies, some of whom had come from a distance to attend the session. , Lady Carncross received in a frock of cloyer satin with lace trimming at the neckline and pearl ornaments. The invited guests were as follows: —Lady Statham, Mrs. Alexander, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Duncan, Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Lark, Mrs. McLeod, Mrs. Martin, Mrs. and Miss Mawhete, Mrs. and Miss O'Byrne, Mrs. W. Perry, Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Robbins, Mrs. and Miss Wilson, Mrs. Bothamley, Miss McKittrick, Miss Hayward, Miss O. Flynn, Miss Hynes.
