It may be recalled s that Hitler was Premier Benito Musso- c lini's guest in Venice in June, 1934, and t Mussolini's trip to Germany last t September returned the visit Hitler s had made three years before. Hitler was in Italy as the head of the Ger- t man State and as the King's guest, t Etiquette, therefore, makes it neces- t sary for Hitler to reciprocate by in- C viting King Victor Emmanuel to ac- n cept his hospitality in Germany. s
