The number of trainers holding riding licences is of course limited, but Didham has made an outstanding success of his dual positions, and on that account his services as a trainer have been eagerly sought after. Probably Didham's most important success was on Alma in the Stewards' Handicap last November.
MANAWATU CLASSIC Record entries have been received for the 1939 Manawatur Sires' Produce Stakes, a total of 111 nominations having been made, in comparison with 69 last year, and 27 stallions have been nominated for progeny to be raced in the 1940 contest. Messrs. F. Ortnond and C. T. Keeble have each entered four yearlings for the race, and triple entries have been made by Sir Charles Clifford, Messrs. W. McA. Duncan, and G. M. Currie, but there are more owners than usual among the nominators, and all parts of the Dominion are represented in the list.

MISURINA REHANDICAPPED For the Akitio Ladies' Bracelet, to be run at the Dannevirke Hunt Club's Meeting, Misurina has been rehandicapped 91b, making his weight 11.13. The Croupier colt engaged in the John Grigg Stakes, to be decided in the spring, has been appropriately named The Raker. His dam, Kippit Lee, was got by Arausio from Snowshoe, by Kilbroney from Snowstell. by Clanranald.
