KARORI CLUB
The Karori Chess Club, which now | has 25 members, concluded a very successful season on December I,,with a lightning tourney, in which there were 16 competitors. Messrs. R. Gilkison and F. Grady tied for first place, the latter winning the play-off. Mr; A. W. Gyles (vice-president) acted as umpire and adjudicator, and Mr. G. Whitham as timekeeper. The club's "Red" team won the Wellington Chess League's third A grade competition.
