PRINTING OFFICE SITE
The suggestion that the present Government Printing Office should be demolished and the site used as part of a beautifying scheme for, the centre of the city, was made by Mr. F. .W. Schramm. (Government, Auckland East) in the House of Representatives this morning.
Mr. Schramm said that if the Government proposed to build a new Printing Office the site of the present building should be left clear and beautified' to give a proper surrounding to the new railway station and the other Government buildings' in the vicinity.
The Minister in Charge of the Printing and Stationery Department (the Hon. P. C. Webb) said that a new Printing Office, was to be built, but he could not yet say what would be done with the site at present occupied.
