AN ADMIRABLE SERVICE
A high tribute to the standard of the Wellington City Municipal Milk' Department's system was paid" by Sir Francis Frazer in. his report, as arbitrator in the fixing; of prices to be-paid supplying farmers, to the City Council. "I am satisfied that the municipal milk department provides an admirable collection, treatment, and distribution service' at a cost'which, regard being had to-the .conditions of supply, is exceedingly low," wrote Sir Francis. "I concur in Mr. Barton's statement that the department is a model of technical and administrative efficiency. The milk supplied to the Corporation by the dairy farmers is of excellent quality and is cleanly-pro-duced. : Consumers may accordingly be assured-that they will be able to purchase a pure and; wholesale ; com-. modity at a minimum cost." Mr. J. S. Barton was the arbitrator last year.
