OIL COMPANY'S TRANSFER
A smoke concert, presided over by Mr. J. H. Lindon. general manager, was held by the staff of the Vacuum Oil Company, Pty., Ltd., on Saturday evening, to bid farewell to Mr. S. Jar dine,; who is being transferred "on promotion to Perth as accountant for western Australia. ' Mr.'Jardine, who has been with the company for 27 years, is one of the most able and popular members of the staff, and well known throughout New Zealand.'. There were many congratulatory references and expressions of regret that, he was leaving the Dominion. A bright musical programme was brought to a close by- the presentation of-a handsonte desk pen set, and a wallet of notes, and good wishes for the happiness of Mr. and Mrs. Jardine in their new surroundings.
