Although ."Pluvius" insurance policies have been issued in New Zealand to sporting bodies and individuals sponsoring various activities for several years, it was not until yesterday, in Wellington, that the Dominion's first individual holiday "Pluvius" policy was issued. The citizen who took out the policy is a keen sportsman, and because he is going on more or less of a golfing holiday, he wishes to be compensated if it is marred by excessive rainfall.. The amount he is insured totis £9, the premium is £1, and the conditions are that he shall be paid the full amount i^,there are 35 -points of fain on each of three successive days or" if 2.25 inches of rain fall throughout the seven days. The holiday venue is Otaki, and the week is from October 20 to October 27.
