BRITISH SAILORS' SOCIETY

A most enjoyable time was spent at the rooms of the British Sailors Society on Wednesday, when an evening was given by the workers for the parents and children of the various concert parties that so willingly give their services in providing entertainment for the men of the sea. There were about 150 present. Some very amusing items were given by Mr. Stan Campbell and party, which delighted children and adults alike. The supper arrangements were in the capable hands of Mrs. Hoult and Miss Hart, who were ably assisted by some members of Toe H. ;

A delightful evening was given in the rooms on Monday by Miss Jean Hodgetts and party, and there was a large and enthusiastic gathering of seamen and friends. The programme consisted of solos, elocutionary items, and dances, and was much enjoyed. Items were contributed by Misses Olive Jones, Zenda Smith. Cynthia Wellington, Irene Wood, Betty Collins, Grace Hodgetts, Joan McKay. Mary Latham, and Violet Jones, and Masters Joseph Jervis and Colin Currie. At the conclusion of the programme a vote of thanks was proposed and carried with acclamation, and supper was served.
