INDIGNANT AMERICANS
SHANGHAI, September' 7.
The American Chamber of Commerce indignantly deprecated as injurious to American prestige President Roosevelt's warning to Americans in China that they remain there at their own risk.
Nevertheless, the American com-mander-in-chief is ordering officers and men throughout China to evacuate their wives and children as speedily as possible. Representatives of three influential firms have telegraphed their principals: "Tell President Roosevelt to get off his yacht, put his feet on the ground, and some guts above them."
