In the American national tennis singles F. A. Parker beat S. B. Wood, 3-6, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-0; J. Hunt beat T. Yamaghishi (Japan), 3-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. In the women's singles, Miss J. Jedrz»> jowska (Poland) beat Miss E. M. Dearman (Great Britain), 6-4, 6-3; Miss R. M. Hardwick (Great Britain) beat Mrs. D. Andrus, 6-2, 6-4.
