GERMAN AWARDS
IN LIEU OF NOBEL PRIZES

BERLIN, September 7,
The national prizes which have been substituted for the Nobel Prizes have been awarded to Herr Ludwig Troost, an architect who died last year, and Dr. Alfred Rosenberg, as the best exponent of Nazi philosophy. The third prize will be divided between two sur~ geons, Dr. August Bier and Professor Ferdinald Sauerbruch, and the fourth goes to an explorer, Herr Wilhelm Filscher, who was recently released by his captors in Chinese Turkestan.
