LEAGUE OF NATIONS UNION
The Lyceum Club rooms were bright with spring flowers and foliage last night when a: reception wa./ tendered to delegates to the annual conference of the New Zealand League of Nations Union. There was a large attendance of members of the Wellington branqh of the union, and a representative group from other parts of the Dominion. Mrs. John ;Henderson, president of the Wellington Union,- who received the guests, wore a frock of parma violet silk lace, "and a wrap of heavy georgette edged with marabou. After Mr. W. B. Matheson (who was in the chair) had briefly welcomed those present, a drajria in one act, "Eleventh Hour," was read... Those taking part were Dr, Keys, Mr. B. Withers, and. Mr. W, M. Page,; the stage directions being read by. Miss M. E. P. Ahem. Mrs. Craig MacKenzie recited "Napoleon's Tomb."
The Hon. Walter1 Nash and Mrs. Nash were cordially welcomed, and Mrs. Nash (who was wearing a slim-fitting frock ,of black pin-tucked sheer under a wide-collared grey squirrel coat) was presented with a dainty basket of fragrant spring flowers. Mr. Nash gave an address on his travels abroad, and was accorded a hearty vote of thanks by the gathering. The meeting concluded with the serving of a home-made supper.
