WEDDING AT ST. PAUL'S .

Miss Dinah Sloman, eldest daughter of Mrs. W. F. Sloman, Tinakori Road, and the late Mr. Sloman, and Mr. Paul Henry Metcalf Williams, third son of Dr. and Mrs. J. Williams, of Gisborne, were- married at St. Paul's ProCathedral at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon, and, although only relatives and close friends were invited to be present, a largo orowd of spectators was attracted. The bridegroom's cousin, Mr, Pat Williams, Christchurch, was best man, and Mr. A. K. S. Mackenzie, an old friend of the bride's family, escorted the bride. There were no bridesmaids. The Rev. Gordon McKenzie : performed . the ceremony.

The bride's grown was of heavy white crepe made in a,straight almost classical style. On her head she-wore a plaited halo of the same material, and she carried a sheaf of the palest pink camellias. From the high neckline, with its turned-back points at the throat, to below the hips, the close-

fitting line of the gown was unbroken. No belt was worn, and the only ornament was a large diamante brooch pinned to the bodice. The skirt flared a- little, forming a slight train; the sleeves were long and tight and finished with small covered buttons to match a row down the, back of the bodice. Pink camellias were arranged on the altar and large bowls of blossom and camellias stood on either side of the chancel steps.

The reception was held at 141 Glenmore Street, the home of the. bride's aunt, Miss Gladys Spmmeryille. Mrs. Sloman, assisted by Dr. and Mrs. Williams, received the guests. A gown of deep blue self-spotted crepe, made quite plain with a little coat, was worn by Mrs. Sloman. Her wide straw hat of the same shade had a veil edging the brim and cyclamen flowers underneath,' and her bouquet was of cyclamen. The bridegroom's mother was wearing an attractive model frock of black silk crepe with a bolero and the front and collar were of broideric anglais. She wore a large picture hat, and carried a bouquet of orchids. Miss Sommcrvillc's navy blue corded georgette coat and skirt was worn with a beige blouse, a navy blue spring hat, and her corsage, spray was of pink flowers. Other immediate relatives present were the bride's sister, Miss Jan Sloman, and the bridegroom's sisters and brother, Mrs". Tony Birch (Marton), the Misses Jill and Shona Williams, and Mr. Michael' Williams (Gisborne). There were lovely flowers in the reception-room, bowls' of blosSom, japonica, camellias, etc. The bridal table, which was covered with a beautiful lace cloth, was arranged in front of a window recess, and a large horseshoe of deep pink rhododendron flowers and lycopodium hung ; above the pink and silver wedding cake. Camellias white and mauve' hyacinths, andromedia, and maidenhair fern were banked at the base of the cake, and there were vases of camellias and small bowls of violets on the table. Mr. A. Sclanders proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom. For travelling the bride wore a frock and coat of sea blue angora and a tiny crownless halo hat of the same material. -The frock was plain with short puffed sleeves and a little collar The halo of the hat was plaited and brown accessories completed the ensemble!"
