MATCH WITH SPRINGBOKS

A start is to be made without delay in getting Wellington players into good" trim for the match with the South African touring team, to be played here on. August 7 (week before the first Test). The Wellington selector (Mr. M. F. Nicholls), who has the assistance of Messrs. A. McDonald and F. D. Kilby, announces the preliminary selection of players to' train in view of the match with the Springboks. The selection is:— BACKS. Crisp (Eastbourne). Mclntyre (Athletic). Watt (Wellington College Old Boys). Hansen (Hutt). Edwards (Wellington). A. Wright (Wellington College Old Boys). Fleming (Eastbourne). Love (Pirates). Griffiths (Poneke). Veitch (Wellington). Reynolds (Wellington College Old Boys). O'Halloran (Fetone); FORWARDS. Ongley (Poneke). Lambourn (Petone). Leahy (Marist Bros. Old Boys). Andrews (Hutt). Wells (Athletic). Fvaser Smith (Wellington). Devine. (Hutt). Guy (Athletic). Pringle (Poneke). Butler (Marist Bros. Old Boys). O'Brien (Poneke). Bishop (Athletic). Hardy (Wellington College Old Boys). Calcinai (Poneke).
