AUCKLAND, This Day. '■I have pleasure in informing you that it has been decided to retain the School of Engineering at Auckland and that the necessary funds for this year w'll be included ii. the Department's esUmates" is the intimation conveyed by telegram from the Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) to Mr. H. J. D. Mahon, president of the University College Council. The Minister asks that the contribution already secured be capitalised and applied to maintaining school engineering.
"We appreciate very deeply the decision of the Minister and the careful consideration of the. problem on which he based if," said Mr. Mahon, when commenting on the telegram.
When ho fell from his bicycle at (he corner of Tinakori Road and Sydney Street at about 7.30 a.m. today, C. Wilson, an apprentice engineer, of 7 Harold Street, .suffered concussion. Ha was taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance.
