"LADIES' NIGHT"
TIN HAT CLUB ENTERTAINS
' There was a very large crowd in the Masonic Hall last night when the Tin Hat Club of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association gave its "Ladies' Night." The president of the New Zealand R.S.A., the Hon. W. Perry, attended, and many war-time nurses were among the guests.
The hall was gaily decorated with bunting, and the club put on an excellent programme for the entertainment Of the ladies. One of the chief items was the installation of Lieu-tenant-Colonel A. Cowles as grand marshal, a chain of miniature tin hats, the insignia of office, being placed about his neck, and Mr. Dan Eckhoff was installed as master-at-arms. Orchestral items, songs, flute and violin solos, stories, impersonations, sketches, and recitations were included in the programme. Those taking part included Messrs. Pat Cole, Harison Cook, J. Rodgers. Frank Oakes, Geo. Holloway, Bob Roberts, Frank Histed, Alf Elston, Lou Morris, Stewart Nelson, Morgan Davies, Ernie Dean, Ken Rigby, Pat Cole, Laurie Sweetapple, Jack Chandler, Val. Jones, Bert WesV headi Jim Osborne, Dan Hope, Ross Williams, and W. W. Marshall. The accompanists were Messrs. G. Holloway, E. Dean, and G. Haigh. An excellent supper was served.
