The Bank of Australasia has received the following cable, dated London, April 27, from Messrs. Balme and Thomas woolbrokers: —London colonial wool sales market strong. Merinos and fine crossbredfi, 5 • per cent, dearer; medium cxossbreds and coarse crossbreds, 10 to 15 per cent, dearer; scoured crossbreds, 5 to 7J per cent, dearer; sliped crossbreds, par to 5 per cent, dearer;.all.as compared with the closing rates of last series. Dalgety and- Co., Ltd., report the wool sales opened; rather poor selection; large attendance; good general competition. As compared with closing rates of last series, greasy merino, par to Id; scoured merino, Id to 2d; greasy halfbred, id to Id; scoured half-, bred, Id to l|d; greasy fine crossbred, 3d to Id; greasy medium and coarse crossbred, Id to lid; scoured crossbred, lid to 2d; slipes, {d to Id; greasy crossbred lambs, Id.to ljd; all higher.
