WEDDINGS

HERD—CHAMBERLAIN. The marriage was ■ solemnised recently at St. Mark's Church, of Evelyn May, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Chamberlain, Wellington, and Ronald Lauzitz, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Herd, Grovetown, Blenheim. The Rev. N. E. Robertshawe performed the ceremony, and Mr. L. T. Watkins presided at the organ.

The bride entered the church with her father. She was wearing a close fitting gown of shell-pink Devon lace, the skirt forming a circular train. The full puff sleeves and flared collar of stiffened net were appliqued with lace. Her embroidered tulle veil was caught with a wreath of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of pink lilies.

Miss Phyllis . Chamberlain and Miss Joan Pointon were the bridesmaids. Their frocks of apple-green cellophane georgette were made with Peter Pan frilled collars, puff sleeves, and frilled skirts. Their silver lame caps were worn with a band of apricof flowers across the back of their hair, and they carried trailer bouquets of matching dahlias and asters.

Mr. W, Daniells attended the. bridegroom as best man, and Mr. F. Smith as groomsman.

The reception was held at the Masonic Hall, Berhampore, 'where Mrs. Chamberlain, mother of the bride, received the guests wearing mushroom lace and a brown straw hat. She was assisted by Mrs. Herd, mother of the bridegroom, who wore a black ensemble with black hat.
