STAFF PRESENTATION

A morning gathering was arranged by the staff of Picot Bros., Ltd., recently to mark the occasion of the transfer of the business to the State Department of Internal Marketing. Mr. P. R. Picot, the director of the new Department, and his brother, Mr. E. H. Picot, were the guests of the staff. On behalf of all members of the firm Mr. J. D. Mac Donald presented two inscribed desk clocks to their former principals, referring to the long and pleasant associations,, as well as to the great measure of co-operation and understanding, which had always existed between the management and staff. He assured Mr. Picot that the loyal service which had been rendered to him during the past 20 years in. private enterprise was still behind him in the new organisation. Replying on behalf of himself and his brother, Mr. F. Picot said that he could not help feeling regret in many ways at the change from a private concern to a State Department, and it was not without some sorrow that they broke associations which carried them back through the whole of their lives. However, all thinking persons would realise that the time had come when the distribution of the people's foodstuffs was more and more becoming the duty of the1 State.

Mr. Picot concluded by expressing his appreciation of the loyal support accorded him by his staff and assured them that he would always have their interests at heart.
