ALUMINIUM WORKERS
VICTORY FOR THE C.1.0
PITTSBURGH, March 6.
What is considered another victory for Mr. John Lewis's Committee for Industrial Organisation is the decision of the largest unit of the aluminium workers' unions to secede from the American Federation of Labour and affiliate with the C.1.0., which will conduct a campaign to organise all workers in Uie aluminium industry on an industrial basis.
A message from Akron states that, the United Rubber Workers of America have served demands upon the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company to recognise the union as .the sole collective bargaining agency. The company announced that in view of the uncertainty of present conditions it would shut all its plant until further, notice, rendering 10,000 workmen idle. \
